FEBRUARY'S VALENTINE PROJECT

I had fun searching for cupcake liners. We made bouquets for their mother and father. 

JANUARY CRAFT PROJECT

The grandchildren made beautiful swans this month. I found a metal carousel to display them. They used a pipe cleaner, glue, feathers and embroidory thread.

Sophie turned 7 this month and my project for her was a charm bottle.  I found an old bottle and hung chains around it and raided my cotsume jeewelry box. When Sophie plays dressup I hope these trinkets will be useful. I attached pictures of her to spikes.

ROAD TRIP TO ROOSEVELT LAKE

Larry, Eunice, Kay, Asghar and I headed out for a day trip on Highway 60.  After a stop for Mexican food at Guayo's in Globe we headed for the lake.

It was a bird day for me as I caught a cardinal grooming at the visitor center.  At the western edge of the lake American White Pelicans lounged in shallow water while a few took flight. It was a misty, watery, sprinkling beautiful day at the lake.

Turkey Vultures perched in trees at Pumpkin Center.  We stopped at Dave's Gas station which was surrounded by a trailer community.  I took a walk down the lanes looking for  the noisy birds but only their houses were visible.

A PROJECT FOR EVERY MONTH WITH THE GRANDCHILDREN

Last year I did a horrible job keeping this blog up to date. I hope I've found the way to do a better job in 2014.

Since I want to continue doing projects with the kids I've decided to make that happen every month. We will keep the projects in boxes because some will be ongoing through the year.  I have given Howard an entry table for his house and projects can be displayed there as we make them.

In January Sophie turned 7 and I made a charm bottle for her which held pictures of her in past years.  I also hung some old costume jewelry of mine and watches she can use for dress-up.  I failed to take pictures and I'll be posting those soon I hope.

We went to Peter Piper for her birthday.  The kids always have fun playing the games. Happy birthday to Sophie.
